We’re a sixth form college, based in Ossett, Wakefield, offering fully inclusive, first class academic support to students aged 16 to 19 years old. The courses we run, together with the specialist subject tutors and our great resources, are all aimed at ensuring that each and every one of our students reaches their true potential.
Our students benefit from the resources and teaching expertise of the wider academy, whilst enjoying a base exclusively reserved for them. This blend of familiarity and new adventure makes the sixth form a popular choice.
Our pathways to progression offer students a personalised programme of study, which, underpinned by our excellent Careers Education, Advice and Guidance, lead students towards their preferred destinations on leaving. The ethos in the campus is something we are particularly proud of. Students are challenged to meet the tough academic standards required of Post 16 study, alongside a backdrop of stable comfort and support which helps them to develop socially and culturally.
Accord Sixth is an incredibly dynamic place, with opportunities for academic, social, personal and ‘growth’ experiences abound. In short, we think we are ideally placed to help you make the best of these Post 16 years.

Our Football Academy had a great time on their recent trip. We went to a Celtic vs Hearts game, played against a local team, had two sessions with the Celtic coaches on their academy facilities and then did mini golf, footgolf and bowling all in one night! Everyone really enjoyed it and showed great positive attitudes all week.

Last week we had some mini results mornings for PPE mock exams – students came along to pick up their results and enjoy some breakfast in the common room. Not long now until the real thing – keep working hard and we look forward to celebrating with you when it comes!

Over the last couple of weeks Year 11 and 13 Geography students have been out on local fieldwork trips to Tadcaster and Drax. They investigated natural and human factors which increase the likelihood of flooding in the River Wharfe drainage basin, conducted tests to identify how land use affects river flooding, and looked at how the river is monitored by the Environment Agency. They were also given a tour around Drax Power Station, which is at the forefront in the mitigation of climate change through carbon capture and storage, linking to their classroom learning on how the UK is managing its energy mix. Plus, they found out about some exciting careers opportunities there.

Accord Sixth is a completely student orientated sixth form. You really feel part of a family here. The support provided is fantastic and incredibly individual. Support and guidance is there for you every step of the way, no matter how big or small. With many big decisions facing students these days, Accord Sixth’s staff provide their time and guidance whenever it is needed.
